Matching Your Bed Sheets to Your Bedroom

To most people, the bedroom is a sanctuary or safe haven and, as such, its design and decor should be carefully considered. It is important that the bedroom is a cozy and luxurious place, especially since you spend so much of your time there. Buying bed sheets that match the rest of the bedroom is important because it will tie the look of the whole room together in a way that promotes inner peace and harmony. If the sheets don't match, the drapes or the color of the walls, it may grate on your brain every time you walk in the room.

At Egyptian Linen Outlet, we have the best quality bed sheets at a very affordable price, with a wide variety of sizes and colors.  With so many tasteful options to choose from, you will always find the perfect bed sheets, no matter your preference.

When picking out new bed sheets, it is a good idea to consider the colors of everything else in the room. Looking at the color of the walls is the first step. Do they fit into the realm of warm tone colors such as red, orange, and yellow or are they cool tones like blue, green, and purple? It is best to choose colors from the same color family to ensure the best looking bedroom possible. If the walls are a neutral color like white or beige, then the sheets can be from either color family.

Next, it is good to consider the color of the duvet or comforter on the bed. The bed sheets should also match it. If the duvet is one color, it is best to buy the bed sheets in a different color that complements it, keeping the bedding from looking boring and matching too much.

When looking to buy new bed sheets, it is best to take the other colors in the bedroom into consideration to ensure that space looks well-put-together.

The Basics of Buying Bed Sheets

Bed sheets are one of those necessities taken care of in youth.  When one becomes an adult, we're confronted with a new number of to-dos – the purchase of bed sheets being one of them.  There's nothing like the feeling of soft, comfortable sheets upon a day's end.  If you're a college student or young adult buying sheets for the first time, consider the following tips:

Deals
The economy is struggling and so are the wallets of most college students.  To start, take a look online to find bed sheets.  Most online vendors offer great prices because online suppliers don't have to budget for utility costs, workers, rent, and other costs associated with running a brick-and-mortar store.  Most online vendors pass these savings along to shoppers.  Before going to your nearest bed-and-bath store, spend some time online.
Seek Cotton
Bed sheets may be comprised of a number of fibers, but don't let lower prices or marketing content persuade you.  Cotton is amongst the best bedding materials.  To take the comfort a step further, seek Egyptian cotton sheets when possible.  The growing season in Egypt is longer and hotter, which in turn produces longer and stronger cotton fibers.  Opting for sheets made of other fibers may save a few dollars, but you'll be sacrificing comfort.  Remember – a third of your day is spent between the sheets!
Thread Count
More is better.  That is the one thing to remember regarding thread count.  The higher the thread counts the higher the price of the bed sheets. However, a reasonably high thread count is well worth the investment.  Have you ever had the unfortunate experience of spending a night in a "budget" motel; the sheets at some of those places are beyond abrasive!  Counts can go up to or beyond 1,000 but 150 is a good place to start.
Season
When shopping for your comforter, consider the season before you purchase. For instance, flannel comforters are great for colder climates but would be uncomfortable for a person living in Florida during the summer months.  It may be a wise investment to buy at least two comforters; one for the warm season and one for the colder months.  The good news is that you don't have to purchase both at the same time.
Sets
You can purchase your bed sheets individually, yet it makes sense to seek sets of sheets to ensure a good fit and a lower price.  Of course, once you get sheet-buying down to a science, you can start getting fancy by buying individual sheets, duvet cover sets, bed skirts, and so on; but, let's get the basics down first.
